I accept the convictions of my good colleague and his wish that this would not have the taint that it does. Unfortunately, that is what has happened here. Nor is there anything unique here. Just last year I voted for legislation to honor a colleague on your side of the aisle, one in my own State, a legislative process just like this, a fellow Congressman who is retired, John Rowland. We named a courthouse in our State for him and we were very glad to have been part of it. He deserves it.
