I personally think calling Social Security and Medicare an entitlement is a little bit wrong, because I have paid 1.35 percent of my income for Medicare since 1968 and 6.2 percent of my income for FICA taxes for Social Security.
Isakson argues that Social Security and Medicare should not be labeled as entitlements due to personal contributions.
