I wanted to express to him my grateful appreciation for his service to the Senate, not just the people of Ohio but the people of this great country. One of the great joys I have had as a Member of the Senate... was to watch him join the Gang of 14 and break the logjams, allowing us to confirm Supreme Court Justices Alito and Roberts. Time and again, I saw his tireless effort on behalf of the best interests of this country and in particular always the best interests of the people of Ohio.
