A President is responsible for the future of this country.

We need to look to the future, to have confidence in the greatness of our country, pull ourselves together in a spirit of unity and conviction and also anticipation and hope.

I pray to God that I'll go out of office, hopefully at the end of 5 more years, still with our Nation at peace.

We must have economic health, with new jobs, new opportunities for American workers to remain the most productive on Earth.

I see no chance that we will put military forces into action there.

The office of the Presidency is a major and vital force in the life of every human being in this country and every family, perhaps in the entire world.

Never in history have so many been fed by so few.

I don't see any way at this time that this altercation between Iran and Iraq will affect the safety or the lives of the hostages nor the date of their release.

I have a sober and excited awareness of what the Presidency means to this country.

I'm grateful that, as President, we've kept our Nation at peace.

It's a difficult job; it's a challenging job.

Our position is that we will not get involved in the conflict at all.
