What we are basically asking this body to do, and I urge Members to do this with every bone in my body, is pass this amendment for the American people. What we have here is a simple problem that simply needs to be corrected. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. All of my adult life I have been taught that as a health care provider, I should be very willing to share any knowledge I have on behalf of the patient. I know not to do that is not just unethical but it is immoral. What we are trying to do is to correct a problem in this country before it gets out of proportion and harms the very people who are providing care because there will be so much confusion, but most importantly because it harms the patient.
