Why don't you trust the state to do their job? Why has the Federal Government entered into this?

Mr. Chairman, I can't thank all of you enough for being here, and thank you, Mr. Chairman, for holding this hearing because this is a national emergency.

That, to me, is over-reach of the Secretary's authority, and without legal basis.

Regardless of political affiliation, the American people deserved to hear this information directly from their President and judge it for themselves.
