“I am sick and tired of our Republican friends assuming that they had no responsibility for this, Mr. Speaker. And we've got to set the record straight. It is in the charge of Democrats, under our leadership, that we indeed are saddled with the responsibility of bringing the confidence of the American people back to our private enterprise system and to keep it free. It is because of what the Democrats are doing that we are saving our free economic system. Under their policies it was heading to straight ruin, causing the worst economic collapse second only to the Depression.”
