Mr. Chairman, I want to speak on something that we have not touched upon, and that is what we need to touch upon the most, and that is what is in the best interests of our national security. Here we are debating this issue: Do we want to put the future of an engine production in the hands of one monopoly company for 30 years and put $100 billion in it? Ladies and gentlemen, by the year 2035, the F-35 will account for 95 percent of our entire aircraft fleet for our fighter squadrons. It is very important that we have this balanced in the hands of more than one manufacturer. We need to vote down this amendment. The Acting CHAIR. The gentleman from Connecticut has 30 seconds remaining.
