There is no reason, with our natural resources--correct me if I am wrong--that we should be importing oil from anybody outside of the Western Hemisphere.

Ted Yoho is a former U.S. Representative from Florida, serving in the House from January 3, 2013, to January 3, 2021. A member of the Republican Party, Yoho represented Florida's 3rd congressional district. During his time in office, he was known for his focus on issues such as healthcare, agriculture, and fiscal responsibility. Yoho was also a member of the House Freedom Caucus, which advocates for limited government and conservative principles.
I share the chairman and ranking member's goal and my vision is to make North America energy secure, energy independent in this region in the Western Hemisphere, to bring stability to the fuel prices.
What I would like to bring out in this hearing is clarification and the purity of science and the purpose of science and not have agendas driven by one side or the other.
I would encourage you guys to get the results of that report out at soon as we can so we can bring some stability to the market.
We don't want that driving our policies. Because now if we are using those products here, we are going to be banned from trading with Europe on that, and it is not based on science.
America is known around the world as a country with a global immigration policy of unenforcement.
we don't want to walk away and leave a vacuum because when you leave a vacuum somebody will fill that.
if we don't get to the basic problem we are treating symptoms when we need to get to the underlying diagnosis and cause of that.
What in the heck have we been doing since 1946, and why do not the governments of those countries want the desire to fix that problem?
