You can have Western democracies or you can have Chinese forms of socialism, which basically is communism.

The United States, thank God, is the only country that pulled out of this because they did show leadership.

We need to keep in mind that the legitimate President is President Guaido and we are weakening his hand.

And to take military option off the table, and the President like I said he never said he was going in there.

And I think with the tinderbox that Venezuela is right now, I think what you are seeing play out there is it is not about Venezuela.

The point that I want to get across is we are at full employment, pretty much, in this country.

Our ultimate goal is we want a strong economy. We want strong job markets.

It shameful that politics gets involved in this, because it shouldn't.

This committee and the President signed into law last year the BUILD Act, which is something to counter China's BRI initiative.

So, if they are really serious about this, build the dang wind farms and do not, you know, do not say 'not in my backyard.'

Those are the things that I see, and it is not following the international norms that we need to stand up against China and back them off now.

I am glad President Trump had the leadership to do that because it was a piece of paper that bound this Nation.

If the rest of the world would follow what we do instead of us going after the--you know, and the politics that gets played over climate change I think is damaging this country.

And I think it just shows it is disingenuous of China.

And yet, we talk about China and the, you know, the different accords that countries sign up to.

And we look forward to working together in a bipartisan manner.

I cannot imagine shipping entities under so-called private registration are allowed to do ship-to-ship transfers without the Chinese Communist Party.

I think we need to go after the bigger players.

When I look at North Korea, I see the epitome of the black market, the epitome of the underground market, or the dark web.

Giving up their life for monitoring sanctions, you know, they are out there doing that inspection.

I appreciate your testimony.

Democratic Venezuela is the only path forward and Maduro has to go before we can get there.

I think the results that you guys are doing and pursuing are doing a great job.

Thank you for the great job you and the Administration are doing.

I propose that we do trade that way. We trade with countries, we set up a metric.
