the State laid out $1.4 billion for port improvements and the federal government has not reimbursed the State for $140 million on these projects.

We need a New Start designation to keep the project timeline intact.

We need the specific authorization for Congress, so that that project can move forward.

It is critical to our financial well-being that we ensure that the port is able to handle the increasing number and size of containerships.

The Hampton Roads region, therefore, is the second largest population center at risk of sea-level rise, right behind New Orleans.
