I think when we look at the issues that are confronting our world, from the issues of terrorism, to the issues of energy independence, there is an opportunity for us to do something significant that will move us down that track of energy independence. Last year, in the passage of the 2005 Energy Policy Act, we acted together in a bipartisan way to move that legislation forward. I am hopeful the legislation Senator Thune and I have been sponsoring will, in fact, be legislation that can, in fact, become law and reach the President's desk as a result of the work of this Congress. First, let me say that as I look at where we have gotten today with respect to immigration reform in this Congress and here in America, we are now at the point where we are playing political games and gimmicks and tricks with what is a very important national security issue.
