We spent $18 billion on enforcing the border. That is more than we spend on the FBI, DEA, and all other Federal law enforcement.
I tend to think of the American worker as the greatest worker in the world. They are certainly the most productive worker.
Well, these are pretty special people, so I think they deserve treatment of some sort.
I think some of your positions on E-Verify make sense. I think these should be agricultural workers.
Do you feel that we are going to cut any flights there? Are we going to increase traffic there and thereby help out our airport?
One of the problems as you well know is that we have a huge number of passengers have missed connecting flights.
If you could get back to me on that because it is certainly something that I know it would probably be a lot cheaper to pay a little bit of overtime and not have, you know, 100 passengers or 50 passengers miss a flight every few hours…
What I don't want people to take away from this hearing is that all of a sudden we forgot about the tired and the poor.
That is why this battle is being fought, because the Republicans know that they are going to lose that battle if we legalize another 11 million people.
