Darren Michael Soto is a U.S. Representative for Florida's 9th congressional district, serving since January 3, 2017. A member of the Democratic Party, Soto has focused on issues such as environmental protection, healthcare, and economic development. He has been an advocate for the Latino community and has worked on legislation to improve access to education and job opportunities. Soto has also been involved in discussions around climate change and disaster preparedness, particularly in relation to Florida's unique environmental challenges.
We are very proud of the $8.3 billion that is in the Build Back Better Act to help with Western water issues.
Fires, droughts, low snowpack, we see the drastic and terrible effects of global climate change deeply hurting the western United States.
We are at a crossroads with American manufacturing. We have the opportunity to change our trajectory, to boost domestic manufacturing, and stop this manufacturing decline, especially in areas of strategic and national security interests.
Puerto Rico faces major challenges. The people need reliable power. The blackouts need to stop.
I am excited. We are on the precipice of passing the largest investment in broadband infrastructure in our Nation's history.
But, basically, the goodwill, the ability, and the possibility of the people making that, we need to change that.
