Increasing TSO pay is important to maintaining a strong front-line work force and to secure the traveling public.

Not a criminal penalty? I understand--look, I understand that some people may have--may inadvertently leave a firearm in a carry on, et cetera, and I understand that, but there is not--the civil penalty is not a criminal penalty to do that?

I am pleased that the subcommittee is holding this hearing today to discuss how TSA is securing the traveling public in our Nation's airports as air travel begins to recover.

I believe that an obstacle to recruiting and retaining TSA officers is that they need to be paid more.
