Bill Nelson is an American politician and attorney who served as a United States Senator from Florida from 2001 to 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously represented Florida's 9th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1993 to 2001. Nelson also held the position of Florida's Insurance Commissioner from 1995 to 1999, where he focused on consumer protection and insurance reform.
We supported legislation introduced by Senator Bill Nelson of Florida aimed at curbing the use of deceptive advertising practices.

Well, Mr. Chairman, if--any other questions from me would be superfluous. I think we've seen there's an inability of the system to react to a circumstance to try to head it off in the first place.
The purpose of this hearing is to see if the U.S. Government is protecting the consumer in these down times.
