Corruption is--unfortunately, it's a plague that is present in the society.

Let's judge our partners and friends, not by number of laws they have adopted but by the effectiveness with which they are implementing these laws.

We must have a full restoration of the Voting Rights Act in this country, and hearings like this are critically important in accomplishing that goal.

Can anybody in here, particularly those of us on the Rules Committee, name any other President in the history of the United States that has asked a foreign government or its leaders to investigate an American citizen for political purposes?
