Mr. Berger says what I believe is something critical that we need to pay attention to. He says that, "Moreover, the more the United States is perceived as making unilateral, peremptory judgments on the performance of other countries, the less we will be able to work with those countries, including on issues of religious freedom." I have had the good fortune, along with many Members in this body, to travel to a significant number of countries in the world. In each delegation that I participated in, be it in China or in Africa or elsewhere, we have raised the subject of religious persecution.
