This resolution restates our commitment to political, religious and economic freedom in Vietnam. It urges the Government of Vietnam to announce a framework and timetable for free and fair elections. It places the Congress of the United States squarely in support of political pluralism and personal freedom for the Vietnamese people. I urge my colleagues to show their support for these worthy aspirations by voting for this resolution.
