I think it was 2005 when Congress and President George W. Bush got together and enacted the RFS legislation for a couple of reasons: one, to diversify our Nation's energy portfolio; second, to strengthen the economy, particularly the economy of rural communities, by encouraging certain agricultural commodities that contribute to biofuel production; and maybe a third would be to bolster the U.S. standing in emerging segments of the energy technology market; and a fourth would be to protect our environment.
