If in July 2011 we're still trying to get the first person in jail... then 2014 is not an option.
In the words of Ben Bernanke, America was on a course for 'a cataclysm that could have rivaled or surpassed the Great Depression.'
The panic of 2008 has subsided, but it has been replaced by the gnawing pain of countless men and women who can't find work, who can't keep their homes, and who don't know whether their economic story will ever end in recovery.
That is not an option, and I do not know any serious thinker on either side of the political divide or the ideological divide that believes that we can do away with regulators and do away with regulations.
