I know for me, the single most important thing I have ever been involved in, and have ever done, and I care more about than anything I have ever been involved in, is this legislation. The thing I am most proud of is that it has become a national consensus. It is not a Democratic issue; it is not a Republican issue; it is not a women's issue, not a men's issue. We have taken that dirty little secret of domestic violence out of the closet.
