I think I, if confirmed as Ambassador, will continue to have this conversation that has been an ongoing one with President Museveni to show that change is good sometimes--it brings different ideas; it brings different opportunities--but, most importantly, to encourage him to keep the space open so that opposition parties and civil society organizations, Ugandans, can advocate for their own rights and civil protections.
