Well, Mr. Goldenkoff, let me--let me followup on that. We do have a lot of contractors and those contractors are on their own. They don't have any benefits. They don't have any sick leave.

If they are going to compete with the private sector, it seems to me they got to be out there with the private sector trying to get the best workers.

In other words, I am questioning whether contractors are a solution to this dilemma since we have so many contractors in the Federal Government always.

As we have seen the frightening rise of white supremacy in a way we had, many of us, particularly from the civil rights movement, thought we would never again see in our country.

Obviously, if you're a victim or family member of a victim, you don't care which political ideology motivates the attack that takes a life; you care about that awful consequence. And I think that should drive the government's response.

directing our national security efforts toward white extremism of this kind before it gets completely out of hand is very important.

But this is unpopular with the citizens in both the District and Maryland.

The lack of statehood deprives us of more than just full representation in this Congress. It has practical and dire consequences.

the important point here is that I looks like the Framers understood that they couldn't put everything in the Constitution.

It should be noted for the record that the territories don't pay Federal income taxes and the District is No. 1 per capita in Federal income taxes.

First, I want to correct for the record, the Federal Government provides 23 percent of the District's revenue.

We don't believe in American democracy in collective guilt. We don't believe in mass punishment.

That is just not the truth. That is not the case. It is about the Constitution.

That is all we ask, that Congress give us what it has given the citizens of 37 other states--full citizenship, statehood.

While we are small, population should not be a disqualification.

Denying statehood would be unfair no matter who was affected.

There should be no taxation without representation.
