I do believe that our unions are productive partners with us, and I do really appreciate the collaboration that we have because I believe that they care about getting the right services to Veterans.
If that is true, let me make it clear right now, that should not be followed.
As you know, coming from a provider background, I strongly believe people deserve to get paid when they deliver a service, and we have failed many of our providers in terms of that.
This is a tough job for anybody to do. What the successful secretary needs to do is to build a team around them because this is bigger than any one person, and to work very collaboratively with veteran service organizations and Congress.
