Senator, I will continue to work with you to fix the immigration system that is fundamentally broken.

The $1.3 billion that the supplemental request calls for will assist us with additional personnel, additional technological resources.

We need more Enforcement and Removal Operations officers. We need more support staff for them.

It is urgent that we receive the funding for our personnel and our tools to enhance the security of our border.

I have determined that it is necessary that I exercise that authority.

I believe it is imperative that we cooperate with one another, jurisdictions cooperate with us, when it serves the public safety need.

I do not consider it in the service of public safety to release an individual into the community when that individual can be released to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for prompt removal.

I feel strongly about this. This is a tool that I have at my disposal.

Lawful protest is a proud tradition in this country.
