The border is closed. We are expelling families. We are expelling single adults. And we have made a decision that we will not expel young vulnerable children.

The situation is undoubtedly difficult. We are working around the clock to manage it. We will also not waiver in our values and our principles as a nation.

The border is secure and the border is not open.

The bottom line is--and this is something about which we all agree--the immigration system is broken, and it is in need of legislative reform.
