We need them to come back.

I worked with infectious disease experts, policy makers, and worked to raise awareness with my fellow Members of Congress.

I believe that we are not doing enough to prepare the public for what may be localized, household, or individual quarantines to address spread of COVID-19.

This virus is a serious public health threat, but this does not mean that we should have a public health panic.

I am disappointed that Congress has not done more as a governing body for workers.

3 days is not going to cut it.

No mother should be forced to sacrifice a paycheck to care for an ill child.

We need to implement a national sick leave program.

We can beat the coronavirus, but the administration needs to set politics aside and put scientists in the driver's seat.

I want to thank Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard for in 2015 having the vision that this would be a direction that we needed to go in to study what is going on with childhood poverty.

Let us just look at the data, and you have--this is in 2018--4.7 million children lifted out of poverty because of the EITC and the CTC.

There are people in this country years ago who fashioned a social safety net. They were Democrats, and they were Republicans.

What we need to be doing is to strengthen these programs and adding on to them as we go forward.

Let us remember that poverty has a pernicious impact on the development of children.

And I do believe it is a moral responsibility that we utilize all the power of the Federal Government to engage with these communities and these students.

Poverty was a daily attack on their well-being.

I believe that is the wrong direction for our students and for our country.

What we have been subjected to this morning is an Orwellian presentation that showcases doublespeak.

We would like to urge you to immediately suspend any department rulemaking that would reduce benefits or affect program eligibility.

We believe that more can be done, such as waiving the congregate meal requirement for schools outside of area eligibility.

The economy is still not working for everyone, and the administration should not make it worse by decimating one of the most effective safety net programs.

I worry that these rules disproportionately impact working families with children trying to climb out of poverty.

Do you think there is need to rebalance your efforts?

We don't have any investigation of over $100 million that is going to this corporation.
