It is clear that the leaked Supreme Court decision that would overturn Roe will have an effect--negative, I believe--on maternal mortality.

We need to negotiate price. We need to establish some parameters around where we need to go and bring down the cost so that people can afford to survive.

We need to be investing in America, building this stuff in America, protecting our assets, our companies, our technology in America.

So I challenge the secretary on that, and also our colleague, David Cicilline.

I have legislation--and legislation has passed in the Connecticut State legislature-- Ethan's Law, it is called Ethan's Law, it is supported by more than 200 of my House colleagues, and it is to set federal standards for safe gun storage.

As you know, far too many families in communities across the Nation face really very heartbreaking tragedies and a needless loss of life which is caused by this epidemic of gun violence, and the lack of gun safety and safeguards.

They don't appear that they are ever going to get it.

So my recollection is that Balfour Beatty already paid something like $65 million in fines for the previous violations and mistreatment.

Balfour Beatty has allegedly continued the same types of fraud and mistreatment that got them into trouble between 2013 and 2019.

I expect to see substantial progress this year in the Unaccompanied Children Program.

This administration is restoring our reputation in the world as a country that welcomes immigrants of all colors and faiths.

I will keep fighting for more money for Title X and other reproductive health programs.

We need to have a very substantial childcare system in the United States.

We trust our most precious resource, our children, with the childcare workers, and yet we are not willing to pay them a livable wage.

If this economy is going to recover and women are going to go back to work, we have got to have affordable, accessible childcare for families.

It pains me as well because our country has taken childcare for granted, and it was demonstrated during the pandemic that it is an industry, if you will, that nearly collapsed.

We have to make it affordable.

We cannot let the childcare industry be destroyed.

Childcare is now front and center.

It just shouldn't be. There should be parity in the kind of health opportunities that people should have.

We increased the HSIs about 23 percent, and it was historic in terms of that.

We need to seize the moment. And when someone calls for help, we need to be able to answer.

We are not going to stop fighting because you are not going to let us, and we are not going to do it because you are that wind beneath our wings here.
