Cramming is pickpocketing and we need to stop it.

We're going to have to have more investment in research and technology.

I think this is a problem that I think we can resolve and I think it needs resolving.

If you are calling a relative in a rural area and your call just never goes through, that is not acceptable.

I think the good thing about that rulemaking is it proposes new recordkeeping requirements.

E-Rate is a wonderful program. It is a tremendous equalizer for small and rural schools to be able to get high-speed broadband.

With respect to retransmission consent, I think I agree with Senator Pryor, we may not be able to solve that today.

I know he knows how important it is for all Americans, no matter who they are or where they live, to have access to modern communications.

I salute Senator Pryor for holding this hearing and for allowing us to hear directly from the people who work so hard to connect all Americans.

I know firsthand how he puts the people of Arkansas first.

We have made the program so complicated that small and rural schools are having a hard time applying.

There is work to do every day to make sure that our rural communities are not left behind.

Access to broadband is essential for prosperity in the 21st century.
