I am happy to be here today as the Ranking Member designate of the Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs and I am looking forward to working with all of you to ensure that the veterans that we are honored to represent are receiving all the quality of care and the rapid service that they and their families deserve.

We should not expect our veterans to be experts in appeals law, Veterans Affairs regulations. That is not their job. It is our job to take care of them.
Agencies must continue to assess and consider both the benefits and costs of regulatory actions, including deregulatory actions.
