Our patience is not limitless.

We have been joined by a couple of our other colleagues here, and I want to turn to Senator Schumer.

If Iran were to acquire a nuclear weapons capability, it would pose a serious threat to peace and security in the Middle East, especially to our close ally Israel.

This is not something that we enjoy doing, and obviously working with you--and I appreciate your response, Mr. Secretary--is exactly the mood that we intend to engage with you on.

The President has also made clear that his patience is not limitless on this.

Our efforts to convince Iran to change course will be more effective if we act in concert with others.

Ultimately, we will only succeed if Iran's leaders are persuaded to cooperate or face sustained, progressively intensifying multilateral economic and diplomatic pressure on their government--including tougher sanctions.

I think it is important on issues like this that the world understand, particularly the Iranian government understand, that our patience has run out, that this has gone on too long and that we are running a great risk if they acquire these…

The award was presented to the Committee to Protect Journalists and the delegates had the opportunity to talk about issues related to the freedom of press with the senator.

I am thrilled to see that the Obama administration has kept its promise to make the role of women central to our foreign policy.

We are looking for a system that works here, making some decisions.

When I took over the gavel of this Committee in January of 2007, we held an extended set of hearings...

Had they acted in 2007 on this issue more aggressively... I think we would have mitigated it substantially.

I would like to get a far more frequent analysis of how that is working.

I have heard that Freddie Mac does a pretty good job of getting the personal contact with people who could be falling into a foreclosure situation.

I get uneasy about moratoriums because they could just forestall the inevitable.

There is a wave coming in commercial real estate that poses some real additional threats to our economic recovery.

A lot of this may be anecdotal, so I want to be careful.
