Joe D. Neguse is a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Colorado's 2nd congressional district. A member of the Democratic Party, he has been in office since January 3, 2019. Neguse is known for his advocacy on issues such as climate change, healthcare, and education reform. He has also focused on promoting economic opportunities and addressing the needs of his constituents in Colorado.
I appreciate that they are with us here today. I look forward to working with my colleagues and, of course, Chairman Tiffany on finding ways to address that disparity.

I want to talk a bit about the merger filing fee bill, which as you know we passed last year.
I have long been a champion of expanding and reinvigorating the Civilian Conservation Corps through a 21st-century CCC.
It underscores the importance of making sure that we get this bill across the finish line.
I am also very excited about the bill that Representative Stansbury has introduced, again on a bipartisan basis.
the budget that Republicans have proposed for the next Fiscal Year contravenes that Congressional intent.
I believe these programs are integral, they are critical, they are valuable, and it is important we get them reauthorized.
I am certainly excited about that bill and hearing the testimony on the same.
We absolutely need to be able to bring more young people into the work that we do in the woods in restoration and in firefighting.
