You know, when Don Edwards announced he was going to retire after 32 years in Congress, I called him--actually, I heard a rumor--and I begged him not to do it, that we needed him in Congress. He said, there are some new guys on the Judiciary Committee. You don't have to worry about civil rights and civil liberties because they are in good hands, and one of those people was Bobby Scott.
