On the recordMay 12, 1994
I am uncomfortable with the wording of the release language in section 11 of the bill. Section 11 states that the released land 'Shall be managed for multiple use in accordance with land and resources management plans' and that 'those roadless areas need not be managed for the purpose of protecting their suitability for wilderness designation'. Will this language prohibit consideration of the released land for possible future designation as a wilderness, and does it in any way limit wilderness reviews to be conducted in these areas by the Forest Service?
