“The point is here is an election that is closer than the one that you were talking about in Orange County, a lot closer. There is no purge or going through and suggesting that the people in that election were all voting illegally because they were not properly registered. I think that this is obviously a witch hunt. There is 21 races that you say were close, that won by 6,000 votes or less, 21 in the 435 Members of Congress. And of these top 21, there is only one that they are going after, and there is only one in that whole group of 21 that has a Hispanic name, Sanchez. I think that this is a witch hunt. It is embarrassing to this institution and ought to be called off. And it would not have been done had she not beaten Representative Bob Dornan, who everybody knows is a bulldog of every stripe and was here dominating this time usually in the evening on special orders about these issues.”
