It will empower CBP to meet the basic provisions for human dignity. Mr. Chair, I sincerely urge my fellow representatives to listen to their better angels, do the right thing, and vote for H.R. 3239, the Humanitarian Standards for Individuals in CBP Custody Act, to prevent another child from dying in the custody of CBP and to promote a professional, humane approach to addressing the humanitarian challenges at our border and create the basic conditions for human dignity.
