“I rise in strong support of the legislation offered by the gentleman from New York to ban certain semiautomatic weapons. Last July, in San Francisco, because Gian Luigi Ferri was armed with two Intra TEC DC-9 firearms--like this one here--with 50-round magazines, he was able to fire between 75 and 100 rounds, killing 8 people and wounding 6 others. Mr. Ferri's victims were shot not once, twice, three, or even four times, but five and six times.”
