“I thank the gentleman, and once again want to commend him for his leadership on this. We have talked about the environment for many years in the Congress. The expression ``environment and health'' now go hand in hand, as they have for a long time, but, as I say, in the public's mind, and I think that if the public is mobilized and understands what is at risk here, then maybe the environment will once again become an issue which has bipartisan support, protecting the environment has bipartisan support, and is no longer an issue of controversy on the floor of the House, and if that is so, it will be in due measure, large measure, to your hard work on this, Mr. Pallone, and I once again commend you.”
