On behalf of Senators Sarbanes and Mikulski, I offer an amendment that would authorize a land exchange between the Navy and the State of Maryland at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. The amendment is as follows: (Purpose: To authorize a land conveyance, Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland) At the end of subtitle C of title XXVIII, add the following: SEC. 2830. LAND EXCHANGE, NAVAL AIR STATION, PATUXENT RIVER, MARYLAND. (a) Conveyance Authorized.--The Secretary of the Navy may convey to the State of Maryland (in this section referred to as ``State''), all right, title, and interest of the United States in and to a parcel of real property, including improvements thereon, consisting of approximately five acres at Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland, and containing the Point Lookout Lighthouse, other structures related to the lighthouse, and an archaeological site pertaining to the military hospital that was located on the property during the Civil War.
