I appreciate the interest of my friends from North Dakota in the EB-52 and share the sentiments of the distinguished Chairman on this matter. The B-52 is a viable candidate for the EW mission in light of its large payload, intercontinental range, reliability, and airframe maintainability beyond 2040. It is my understanding that it is being studied as a dedicated EW platform candidate and must receive full consideration.
