“on behalf of Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska, I offer an amendment which would increase funding for neurotoxin research. The amendment is as follows: amendment no. 3241 (Purpose: To increase by $2,000,000 the amount authorized to be appropriated for research, development, test, and evaluation, Defense-wide activities, and make the increase available for neurotoxin mitigation research, and to provide an offset) At the end of subtitle B of title II, add the following: SEC. 217. NEUROTOXIN MITIGATION RESEARCH. (a) Increase in Amount for Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation, Defense-Wide.--The amount authorized to be appropriated by section 201(4) for research, development, test, and evaluation, Defense-wide activities, is hereby increased by $2,000,000. (b) Availability for Neurotoxin Mitigation Research.--Of the amount authorized to be appropriated by section 201(4) for research, development, test, and evaluation, Defense-wide activities, as increased by subsection (a), $2,000,000 may be available in Program Element PE 62384BP for neurotoxin mitigation research.”
