I will use it by saying, a default is a default is a default. This bill is a serious mistake, as is the amendment. People can do what they want on the amendment. Vote ``no'' on the basic bill. I yield back the balance of my time.

Coastal communities throughout our district do not want this. Cities up and down the coast have stood together on a bipartisan basis to oppose offshore drilling because protecting our coastline is common sense.
I am encouraged that even in this moment when we still come together across the aisle we can do big things to serve our military and our veterans.
Regardless of what your preferred energy sources are, we all should be able to agree that no Administration should have the ability to negotiate backdoor deals with companies to abandon projects that our country needs.
The consequences of offshore drilling would be catastrophic for our communities, our economy, and our environment.
