“let me just, first, thank the Senator from Vermont for his willingness to work over the next couple of days to see if we can figure out a way to address the issues, which are very important issues, that his amendments incorporate. I commend him also on his extraordinary commitment to the veterans of both wars--the ones we don't reach, as well as the ones we know about. We are going to work with him over the next couple days to see if there is a way to work these amendments out. I appreciate his willingness to hold off offering them.”
