PROTECTING THE PENSIONS OF WORKING AMERICANS AND PROHIBITING THE FRAUDULENT TAKEOVER OF AMERICAN COMPANIES. Nothing in this Act, or the amendments made by this Act, shall limit the authority of the Securities and Exchange Commission, in carrying out the Commission's authority to enforce securities laws and ensure investor protections-- (1) to protect the pension funds of firefighters, police officers, and teachers, or a pension fund of any retiree, against fraudulent and deceptive financial practices; or (2) to protect against the takeover of American businesses by non-U.S. persons, including government-owned corporations from China, that engage in reverse mergers with U.S. companies to gain quick access to U.S. markets, but defraud investors of billions of dollars.
