The Clerk read as follows: Mr. Takano moves to recommit the bill H.R. 1994 to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs with instructions to report the same back to the House forthwith, with the following amendments Page 6, beginning on line 19, strike paragraph (1) and insert the following: ``(1) The Secretary may not remove or demote an individual, including veterans who make up nearly one-third of the Department's workforce, under subsection (a) if the individual has filed a whistleblower complaint, as such term is defined in section 731 of this title, or if the individual is seeking corrective action (or on behalf of whom corrective action is sought) from the Office of Special Counsel or the Inspector General based on-- ``(A) an alleged threat to the health or safety of the public; or ``(B) an alleged prohibited personnel practice described in section 2302(b) of title 5.''.
