When ERISA was enacted in 1974, Congress made its intent clear. The law's primary purpose is to 'protect the interest of participants in employee benefit plans, and their beneficiaries.'

That was the most extreme in the ten years I have been here in Congress.

So, all of those things, I just wanted to clear up, and thank you, Mr. LaMalfa, and the chairman, for letting me talk.

It has been my privilege in the three decades or more that I have been in elected office, starting with city council to become friends and part of the disability community.
