It is my job and my obligation to update outdated immigration laws.
We can't afford to have another Uvalde in our country. We can't afford to have another 9/11.
But look at it this way. If you gave them a work permit, could New York use 40,000 or 50,000 workers right away?
They would tell me, 'We're as ready as can be.'
