PROTECTING HOMEOWNERS FROM THE DEVASTATING EFFECTS OF WILDFIRES IN THE WILDLAND-URBAN INTERFACE. The Act of June 4, 1897 (30 Stat. 11) is amended by adding at the end of the second full paragraph at 30 Stat. 35 (16 U.S.C. 551) the following new sentence: ``To ensure there are sufficient funds to provide the most modern equipment available for wildfire suppression and to ensure there are adequate numbers of personnel to manage and suppress wildfires, there is authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary of Agriculture such sums as may be necessary for fire suppression equipment and personnel to conduct forest fire presuppression activities on National Forest System lands and emergency fire suppression on or adjacent to such lands or other lands regarding which the Secretary has entered into a fire protection agreement.''.
