I thank the author of this resolution for giving us all the opportunity to recognize Gabe Zimmerman and to honor his memory and to extend to his family, Ross Zimmerman, Emily Nottingham and Ben Zimmerman, our gratitude for giving their son and their brother in service to this country. We have said it already: Gabe Zimmerman, a young man, a passionate, idealistic, 30-year-old man, engaged to be married to his beloved Kelly, lost his life in gunfire while assisting his Congresswoman, Gabby Giffords. In the routine course of affairs in this House, our staff Members often sacrifice their peace of mind in service to the needs of our constituents. In many of our hectic moments, they sacrifice their family time and the events with children that create a lifetime of memories. Gabe Zimmerman loved his community and his Nation that he served, and it is just appropriate that we take the time today to recognize him and to affix a plaque in his honor.
